Bridal Updo and floral crown.

Inspiration is not always easily found. Take, for example, styling a bride with visions of a warm-weather wedding while the outside temperature hovers around 20 degrees. That was the task we were faced with the day of this spring-inspired wedding hair shoot.

Our goal was to showcase a couple of different wedding hair looks while still encompassing the nature-vibe that often defines the spring season. To do this, we incorporated the subtle details that characterize the springtime in the form of floral accents, shoulder-baring dresses, and touches of green throughout both  the boho and formal styles.

We wanted to add a slightly different edge to the photos so we teamed up with Jena at J.Lynn Bridal in Lawrence. Jena not only provided us with gowns and stunning hair accessories, but a studio in the form of her tastefully styled backroom. To further our vision for the shoot, we collaborated with Lawrence-based florist Cary at Englewood Florist for several charmingly hand-crafted floral crowns.

For our boho-inspired look, we focused on keeping the hair textured and relaxed. We opted for both a down style and an updo that were equally complimented by the botanical details of the crowns. Our formal style also featured textured pieces, but pulled them together into a comfortable, swept back coiffure that we accented with a leafy pearl hair accessory. By keeping the details polished, we were able to perfectly capture the feeling of an early spring wedding in a fun and stylish manner.
